Lebanon, TN - Mr. Jerry Lee Scott of Lebanon, TN passed away on May 24, 2025. He was 88 years old. Born February 24, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio. Jerry led a dynamic and accomplished life marked by dedication to his profession, service to his country and a passion for sports and friendship.

Jerry began his journey in broadcasting with a deep commitment to journalism and communication. Over the course of his career, he served as a news director in both radio and TV, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. His work took him from Youngstown, Ohio to Long Island, New York. Both places remained close to his heart throughout his life. He was also known for lending his voice and presence to commercials for Chrysler showcasing his versatility and charisma in front of the camera.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy. Jerry carried the discipline and honor of military service into every aspect of his life. His stately demeanor and active lifestyle made him a respected figure among peers and colleagues alike.

Jerry had a lifelong love for sports. He was an avid golfer who found joy on the greens well into his later years. In his younger days, he played basketball and baseball with enthusiasm and skill. Notable, he played for the Long Island Chiefs, a testament to both his athletic ability and team spirit.

He was preceded by his parents, Katherine E. Scott and Paul Joseph Scott; a grandson, Robert E. Burnett (Colt). He is survived by two children, his daughter Karen Scott-Miller, RN, PA and his son Paul Joseph Scott; granddaughters, Judy Lee Michelle Carter and Bobbie Jo Thompson, and eleven great-grandchildren. Darryl Noble was a lifelong friend and became his caretaker. Jerry was also considered a grandfather to the Noble family. He would often comment that Darryl was the best friend that he ever had. They remained best friends until Jerry's passing.

Known Affectionately as "a ladies man" and remembered fondly as a stately gentleman with an active spirit even into old age, Jerry brought charm and vitality wherever he went.
