Alice Trice Obituary

Lebanon, TN - Alice Moss Trice, age 94 of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at her residence shortly after her beloved husband of 70 years, Johnnie Trice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Florence Moss; son, Andy Trice; siblings, Charles (Ilene) Moss, Betty (Vern) Powers, Louis Moss, John (Martha) Moss, and Josephine (Clarence) Reynolds.

She is survived by daughter, Angela (Tim) Greene; grandchildren, Allison (Josh) Bassler, Jonathon (Amber) Trice, Lauren (Mead) Geary, Lexie Greene, Ryan Greene; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Hux, Hayes, Kaden, Hillary, Maddox, Heath, and Whitley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. She is also survived by her faithful farm manager and trusted friend, Julian.

Alice, a beloved wife, mother, "Nana", gardener, and devoted member of her community, leaves behind a legacy rooted in faith, family, and simple joys done exceptionally well.

A proud graduate of Mount Juliet High School, Class of 1949, Alice carried the values of hard work and kindness with her throughout her life. She was a faithful member of College Hills Church of Christ, where she was actively involved in her Life Group and formed many meaningful friendships over the years.

She had a true gift for gardening and was widely respected for her talent. She was certified as a Master Gardener and over the years, many admired her flower garden as they drove by her home on Coles Ferry Pike. The Wilson County Fair Flower show even created an award in her honor, "The Alice Trice Overall Excellence Award," the top award given. She faithfully served for many years as Chairman of the Flower Show, helping shape it into something special for the entire community. She was also involved in the Oakland Home Demonstration Club and the Wilson County Gardeners Guild.

Traveling was a special joy in Alice's life, one she shared side by side with her husband, Johnnie. Together, they made countless memories, enjoying the journey as much as the destinations. They visited all 50 states and many countries over the years. These experiences were a reflection of their deep companionship and the life they built together.

While her accomplishments were many, Alice will perhaps be most fondly remembered for the warmth of her home. She was an exceptional cook, known for preparing meals that were not only delicious but filled with love. Her husband, Johnnie, never walked through the door without being greeted by a wonderful meal and a welcoming spirit. She believed deeply in the importance of gathering around the table, and her family dinners became a treasured tradition that brought everyone together. She was deeply involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she rarely missed an opportunity to support them.

Alice also had a way with words, often sharing sayings that felt as though they had been passed down through generations. Those expressions, along with her wisdom and gentle humor, will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered as a woman of grace, dedication, and deep love for her family, her church, and her community. Her life was a beautiful reflection of care, service, and traditions.

Visitation will be held at College Hills Church of Christ on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at the church on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Kevin Owen will officiate. Pallbearers are Tim Greene, Josh Bassler, Mead Geary, Louis Moss, Mack Moss, and Kyle Moss.

A special heartfelt thanks to Amada Senior Care and Gentiva Hospice from the family for their loving and compassionate care. We are especially grateful to Karen Holt, who has been a dedicated caregiver to Johnnie and Alice for over two years.
